Buy now: Organic pinto beans 2kg
Quail (pinto) beans are the magicians among the pulses. Their red-brown speckles, which give them their name, dissolve into thin air after cooking. What remains is the mild taste and the fine consistency of the miracle bean. Buy our pinto beans in the 2kg value pack now and dare to try the magic of the legume!
Cooking your own quail beans
A brief disclaimer beforehand: quail bean and pinto bean refer to the same legume - in case there is any confusion.
Canned beans are convenient, sure. But canned beans also create a lot of waste and are more expensive by volume than our 2kg advantage pack. Another advantage of our pinto beans: You can cook them yourself and adjust the taste and consistency to your preferences. From firm to very soft: you decide the consistency! Well, it also depends on what you are cooking. Who wants rock-hard beans for their dip or crumbly ones for their stew? But with our dry pinto beans, you can be flexible.
Step one of the preparation: soaking the pinto beans
Ordering pinto beans online is a breeze. And the preparation is really simple, as long as you take a few things into account, such as soaking the pinto beans. This not only shortens the cooking time, but also makes them easier to digest. Simply soak the pinto beans in water overnight and rinse them thoroughly the next day. This reduces the cooking time to about 30 minutes.
Avoid bloating from beans
Although beans are considered a high-fibre and high-protein ingredient, with a little skill you can dampen the unpleasant after-effects! So to avoid bloating from pinto beans, three things help: soak and rinse the beans, cook them for a sufficiently long time and season them properly. For the latter, we recommend cumin and ginger.
Taste and use of pinto beans
It doesn't always have to be kidney beans! Pinto beans not only have their spots, they also take on something: the flavour of other ingredients - a real all-rounder among pulses. That's why pinto beans are perfect for salads, homemade dips, but also for soups and stews. They love spices and harmonise particularly well with thyme and coriander - if you like it. But they have also been heralded as a star ingredient in dips and vegan burger patties.
And the best thing is: the preparation is easier than you think! After you've cooked the pinto beans, add your favourite spices and some oats, mix it all together and you've got your homemade burger pattie. Your mouth isn't watering right now? Buy our pinto beans now and experience their magical versatility for yourself

Finally a reasonable amount of beans in
Came with me, by the way, in a paper bag which made me very happy.
I tested them as part of my bean-peanut-tomato sauce, they tasted great and were pleasantly firm to the bite compared to other beans I've used elsewhere.
Recipe: boil 166g dry beans in cooked with a chopped onion and half a bottle of strained tomatoes and a tbsp canola oil and salt and pepper and simmer for 10min, then stir in a tbsp peanut puree and season with tomato paste and lemon juice.
Optional as a pasta one-pot: at the beginning add 100-200g noodles depending on hunger, double the amount of water and accordingly more salt.
