The happiness and satisfaction of our nut lovers are very important to us, and that's why we added these broken cashews to our store! We know they don't sound super appealing, but broken simply means that the cashews in the bag are not whole kernels; however, they still are delicious and crunchy cashew nuts, and we would never throw that away! So we decided to give them a second chance, and prepared 1kg bulk packs of nuts just for you! Once you try them, they will certainly become one of your most ordered KoRo products! And despite the only qualitative difference is in their looks, they are also a whole lot cheaper than optically perfect cashew kernels: what are you waiting for!

Whole cashews vs cashew pieces

Cashews are among the most beloved nuts. Botanically speaking, they are actually not nuts at all, but kernels! Our partners harvest the cashews in Vietnam, and once the cashew apples are removed from the "stem", the kernels are taken out of the nut shells and that's it! However, these are hard nuts to crack, hence the possibility of breakage during this process. Along with the entire cashews, some broken cashews are also produced. We include these in our LP broken goods. LP stands for large pieces, we only allow cashew pieces bigger than 4.65 mm into our bag. Even if they are not entire kernels, we want you to get cashew pieces, not cashew dust! We stand for transparency and only offer products of the highest quality. Some of the broken cashews may have a darker colour around the edges, but rest assured: this is not due to any quality defect. It is caused by weather conditions. These halves and pieces of cashews allow us to provide an equally delicious and cheaper alternative. But quality is still our top priority, so the product is free of any additives such as sugar, salt or oil and gives you that natural crunch.

Cashews – your kitchen allrounder

Broken cashews taste exactly the same as the whole version. The advantage is that you save money! If you were going to break them down anyway, you save on time and effort as well, meaning you can spend more time admiring our spicy cashews or our roasted cashews with caramel! But our cashews can be more than just a delicious snack. They can also be processed to delicious effect. With our cashews, you can improve any dish in just a few seconds. Crunchy or creamy, anything is possible with cashews.

Use them as a topping on asian curries, as the crunchy element in your snickers-inspired bowl or as part of a base for a creamy cashew-rice pudding. Our broken cashew pieces are your loyal partner in the kitchen. Climate impact

At KoRo, we analyse the greenhouse gas emissions that are produced during the production of our snacks. These include, among other things, CO2, methane and nitrous oxide. Our hard-working sustainability team collects all the information to calculate a value: the so-called CO2 equivalents. We are now passing this information on to you so that you can make informed purchasing decisions and keep an eye on your personal carbon footprint. We also use these valuable findings ourselves, to try to make our supply chains even smarter in the future and monitor our CO2 footprint.

Bei der Arbeit Spaß haben und Dir trotzdem leckere Produkte anbieten: Wir bekommen beides unter einen Hut. Dabei hilft es uns gar nicht so wenig, dass wir regelmäßig Leckereien aus aller Welt verkosten dürfen. An den besten Tagen dürfen wir sogar Cashewkerne zusammen probieren.

Der Cashewbaum

Cashewkerne wachsen, Du wirst es nicht glauben, an Cashewbäumen. Die sind mittlerweile ziemlich weit verbreitet, denn Cashewkerne können in vielen Regionen der Erde angebaut werden. Unsere leckeren Kerne stammen aus Indien und Vietnam.

Eine Nuss außerhalb einer Frucht? Ist das legal?

Halt Dich fest: Die Cashewnuss ist eigentlich keine Nuss sondern ein Kern. Wir waren auch schockiert, als wir das gehört haben, geben ihr aber trotz ihrer falschen Identität noch eine Chance – dafür sind unsere Cashewnüsse einfach zu lecker. Die Frucht, an der der Kern wächst wird Cashewapfel genannt und ist ebenfalls essbar.

What is so special about KoRo's cashew curd?

Our cashew curd comes not only in the practical 1 kg advantage pack but also offers you a low-priced alternative to whole cashews. The cashews belong to the Large Pieces (LP) broken goods. In your package you will find only pieces that are larger than 4.65 mm. What does this mean for you? Correct, nothing stands in the way of your nibbling fun. In addition, our cashew curd is natural and convinces with its buttery aroma - and without any additives like sugar!

What do I use the cashew curd for?

Our cashew curd belongs to the Large Pieces (LP) breakage and is therefore ideal as an ingredient for your muesli, your banana bread or your cake. Cashews can also be used as a topping for hearty dishes. You like it creamy? How about your very own vegan cheese or even vegan cream? Cashews make a great base for vegan pesto, cheese, and dips of all kinds! We tried it and are still dreaming about our vegan cashew mozzarella.

Can my dog eat cashews?

Of course, our cashew curd is characterized by its naturalness and can thus also be used as a small snack for your dog. If you have any questions about it, we recommend that you seek advise from your veterinarian.

Can I eat the cashew curd during pregnancy?

Sure, you can also enjoy our cashew curd carefree in moderation during pregnancy!

How do I store cashews?
