Buckwheat looks like grain, tastes like grain but isn't grain. For our puffed buckwheat, the little, triangle-shaped seeds are first freed from their shell. Afterwards they're heated in order to make them pop. However, only briefly heated, the puffed seeds are a perfectly fluffy-crunchy and keep their slightly nutty taste.

The puffed buckwheat is ideal as a crunchy ingredient for your muesli or yogurt. You can even try to make some popcorn out of it!

Buckwheat

Buckwheat seeds have a greenish to beige coloration, and in shape they remind tiny pyramids. They are perfect to sprout, added to your porridge, and fit deliciously in a variety of recipes.

Buckwheat originally comes from Asia; arrived in Europe in the early Middle Ages, buckwheat has a short period of growth and thrives on lean soil, but is sensitive to cold. It has been a staple of Eastern European cuisine since ancient times, and Russia is the first documented country to have cultivated buckwheat. In 2017, 3.8 million tons of buckwheat were harvested worldwide. China is the largest producer of buckwheat, followed closely by Russia.

Scrumptious for an oatmeal.

Tasty, pleasant despite being really light. I use it in my Oatmeal in the morning giving it that extra crunch.

Goes well over muesli.

I wanted to try the puffed buckwheat for my muesli, it is light and airy, tastes slightly nutty and is not sweetened. Simply perfect!

Great with yogurt

I am always surprised how much flavor the different "Pops, Puffs & Flakes" have if you don't bury them under sugar. Hard to describe, kind of nutty.

We have been ordering for a long time and will continue to do so!

Great quality, the taste is convincing anyway, but I like buckwheat anyway. We like to use it as an ingredient in our homemade granola with Koro maple syrup. :)
