History lesson for your palate: have you always wanted to dine like the Incas and Aztecs? - Here we go! We set off on an adventurous journey through the deepest jungles, Indiana Jones-style, to get the crunchy gold of the indigenous peoples for you. Admittedly, it was perhaps not quite that wild. However, we get the valuable Inca grain from South America, among other places, where the miracle grain is native. So what are you waiting for? Order 700 g of puffed organic amaranth now and spice up your pantry.

Puffed amaranth – what is that?

You may have read in our shop what amaranth is. But what is the difference between "regular" and puffed amaranth? The millet-like amaranth grains can be cooked but also puffed. Puffing amaranth gives it an airy-light texture and a finely roasted nutty note, making it a great porridge and muesli topping. Puffed amaranth is also a highlight in your vegetable pots and fresh salads. And since we are on the topic of crunchiness, have you heard of quinoa, amaranth's corny amigo? Also known as "Incan popcorn", quinoa is at least equally as powerful as amaranth! Bring millennia old indigenous tradition into your kitchen!

In principle, amaranth is gluten-free. However, cross-contamination with gluten-containing products may occur during the production process, which is why we do not describe our puffed amaranth as gluten-free. People who suffer from gluten intolerance or celiac disease should therefore refrain from consuming it.
Amaranth is not called the "grain of the Incas and Aztecs" for nothing. Our puffed amaranth grains are perfect for a varied diet, as they can be combined with a wide variety of cuisines and recipes. They are the perfect portion of Inca power in savory dishes, but also in sweet treats.
Our grainy friends are 100% vegan and therefore a great alternative to animal protein. Due to their fine roasted note, they can be wonderfully combined in a variety of ways. Browse through our Food Journal and get inspired!
Lose pounds Aztec-style: Weight loss goals are primarily achieved through a calorie deficit. The fact is that our puffed organic amaranth also scores with a high fiber content in addition to its nutty taste. There are numerous recipes in which you can integrate the small grains.
Unlike non-puffed amaranth, puffed amaranth grains are light-fluffy and score high with a subtle toasty, nutty note. They are a great topping in numerous dishes such as breakfast cereal bowls, creamy soups and crunchy salads.
The amaranth plant originated in Central and South America and has been a staple food there for several thousand years. The cultivation areas of our puffed organic amaranth are in India, Peru and Bolivia. Over the years, amaranth has become so well established that cultivation may even be possible in Germany, in your own garden.
For the sake of Mother Nature: Our puffed amaranth comes from Peru, Bolivia and India, from 100% organic cultivation.
Even though the power grain from tropical regions of the world is a real sun worshipper, you should definitely store it protected from light, in a dry place to maximize the shelf life of the puffed amaranth. The minimum shelf life is 12 months from the date of production in the original sealed package.
100 g of our organic amaranth contain 370 kcal. You can find more information about the average nutritional values per 100 g in tabular form, as a PDF file under "Specification" and directly on the product packaging.

if you are looking for a better healthier high protein alternative to normal market cereals this is really good! the package is hugeeee its super price-performance product!but if you are looking for something crunchy this doesnt have any crunch effect + no taste so beware of this. i dont think i will buy it again because i wanted to have a crunch effect! i still its good to add to yogurt bowls and love the macros so recommend it!

Nutty and delicious

I was looking for an amaranth that tasted similar to Allnatura. This one tastes very nutty, almost smoky.

Great crunch, great source of protein for vegans

Crisps up nicely. The "puffing" leads to a roasted aroma. This is a little too strong for me, both in terms of smell and taste. But that's down to the basic way it's made. I still like it on my porridge! Organic and a great source of protein for vegans

"Fair prices"?

There is a special page on the website to explain price adjustments, which are nevertheless supposed to be "fair" and are only justified by increased costs (energy, purchasing). However, since my purchase in January, this product has simply become over 100% more expensive (from €4.50 to €9.75). You're not seriously going to tell me that you've been paying so much more for energy in recent months, or even that the farmer here is getting €5 more, are you? In my opinion, this is an absolute cheek, as it's obvious that price adjustments are simply made when people will pay for it, so that you can maximize your own profits. And then to talk about fair prices puts the icing on the cake...
