History lesson for your palate: have you always wanted to eat like the Incas and Aztecs? Here's your chance! We set off on an adventurous journey through the deepest jungles, Indiana Jones style, to get the tropical gold of the indigenous peoples for you. OK, maybe it wasn't quite like that. Moreover, we don't get our grainy friend from South America, but from India, where the Inca grain is also native. But what counts in the end is the result: a gigantic portion of our power organic amaranth.
Pure Inca gold for you!

And while we’re at it: have you heard of its grainy friend, quinoa? Also known as “Inca popcorn”, quinoa has just so much to offer as well. Thousands of years old tradition of indigenous peoples in your kitchen. One thing is clear: the Incas and Aztecs possessed huge treasures of incredible value – you can find at least one of them here with us. Buy our organic amaranth now!

Our amaranth may contain traces of gluten, along with tree nuts and sesame.
Weight loss goals are primarily achieved through a daily calorie deficit and an active lifestyle. In addition to a remarkable amount of protein, our amaranth also scores with a high fibre content, and can therefore be a great addi.
The amaranth protein content is small but mighty: no wonder that it was an integral part of the Aztecs' and Incas' diet, because the small grains are a true source of protein with an impressive 14 g of protein per 100 g. This power grain can therefore be wonderfully integrated into numerous dishes as a neutral battery charger after a strenuous workout.
Amaranth is called the "grain of the Incas and Aztecs" for a reason. Our amaranth grains are ideal for a balanced diet, as they can be combined with a wide variety of cuisines. They are the perfect portion of Inca power in savoury dishes but also sweet treats. Preparing amaranth is super easy: the tiny grains are very thirsty. Similar to quinoa or millet, you cook it with three times the amount of water: first boil the water, then add the amaranth grains and simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes. In addition to the inspirations already mentioned in the product text, you can find more delicious ideas in our recipes. Let your creativity run freely!
100 g of our organic amaranth contains 369 kcal. You can find further information on the average nutritional values per 100 g in table form or as a PDF file under “Specification” directly on the product page.
Our amaranth is 100% vegan! Due to its fine nutty note, it can be wonderfully combined in a variety of ways. Take a look at our recipes for inspiration!
The amaranth plant originated in Central and South America and has been a staple food there for several thousand years. How did the golden Aztec treasure come to us? During the expansion of corn cultivation, it snuck aboard ships bound for Europe as a stowaway and eventually made its way onto our plates. But many of the more than 40 different species of the foxtail plant are also at home in Asia. Of course, it is also their good reputation that has made them indispensable for us. Over the years, amaranth has become so well established that it may even be possible to grow it in Germany, in your own garden. Our amaranth comes from India, where it feels most comfortable due to the climate – of course from 100% organic cultivation.
Even if the power grain from tropical regions of the world is a real sun worshipper, you should store it away from direct light, in a dry place. Its minimum shelf life is 24 months from the date of production, if kept in optimal conditions in the original sealed packaging.
This golden treasure from Mother Nature is a true source of protein and fibre. As long as you consume amaranth in normal amounts during pregnancy, we do not see any problem. However, if you are unsure, you should always seek the advice of your doctor.
