Did you know that you can make a vegan egg substitute from seeds that swell, such as psyllium husks, flaxseeds and others? This is due to the ability of these types of seeds to form a gel – with similar binding properties to egg. Yes, seeds are quite versatile. But our pumpkin seeds, for example, are also perfect as a snack between meals.

How do I germinate seeds?

Do seeds have a lot of fibre?
Many of our seeds are high in fibre. For example, our flaxseeds contain 18g of fibre per 100g. The ever-popular chia seeds also contain an incredible 31g of fibre per 100g. So for an extra portion of fibre, you can spice up your breakfast with our seeds and kernels.
How many seeds can I eat in a day?
That depends entirely on the type of seed. For seeds and kernels with a high swelling capacity, you should pay attention to the maximum recommended intake. No more than 2 tablespoons of crushed flaxseed should be consumed per day – it is also important to drink enough water at the same time. You should not consume more than 15 grams of our chia seeds per day.
How do I store seeds and kernels?
We deliver most of our seeds to you in resealable packaging so that you can store them airtight in a dark place at room temperature even after opening. This way, they will stay fresh for a long time. If you care about the way they look, you can also transfer the seeds and kernels and store them in a glass jar. Our Ball Mason Jars are perfect for this!
Can I eat chia seeds raw or do I have to soak them?
You can eat chia seeds raw and sprinkle them over your salad or cereal, for example. However, like many other seeds, chia seeds have a high swelling capacity, so you can also soak them wonderfully in water or a plant-based drink. However, make sure to take in enough additional fluids.
