Buy now: Sage pesto 180g
Our favourite sauce from Italy? Definitely pesto! When you get right down to it, pesto is more of a paste than a sauce, and it's got a lot going for it. Especially when you're in a hurry, the little jars are worth their weight in gold. Whether with basil or dried tomatoes: cook a pot of pasta, put the pesto on the table and everyone is happy - it can be that easy! But we wouldn't be KoRo if we weren't always good for a surprise - because in addition to basil, almonds and olive oil, we have got a new pesto with fine sage. Never heard of this combination before? Then it's about time! Add our spiced sage pesto to your shopping cart now and read on!
What is pesto?
What exactly is pesto, you ask? Pesto is an uncooked, spiced paste - based on olive oil, basil, nuts or seeds and hard cheese – which is often served with pasta. The creamy sauce originated in Italy, more precisely in Liguria, but it has long made it on the global stage and can be found pretty much everywhere these days. Whether for a quick lunch or dinner at home or for on the road when camping or at a festival - pesto has a firm place in our foodie hearts with its strong and spiced flavour. But our sage pesto has a lot more to offer than just topping your pasta!
The versatility of sage pesto
Our pesto with sage comes - how could it be otherwise? - directly from sunny Italy and conjures up "La Dolce Vita" on your plate. The pesto is an absolute hit pure, with pasta, the pesto is already a flavourful hit, but also shines as a hearty spread on your bread or dip for your vegetables. You can also use it to marinate vegetables, fish or meat (and their vegan alternatives). Insider tip: Put some sage pesto on your pizza or mix it into your salad dressing, it's a 10/10! Pesto with sage is not very well-known so far - we have found the perfect mixture for us and are sure that you will like it too: Aromatic sage combined with almonds, olive oil, Grana Padano cheese, some basil and garlic, as well as oat fibres, citric acid and sea salt provide you with an intensely flavoured paste in a class of its own. Be careful: Due to the rennet contained in the cheese, the sage pesto is neither vegan nor vegetarian. However, we do of course have two vegan pesto varieties in our range - to find out more, simply read on!
What types of pesto are there?
The absolute classic among pestos is pesto verde, meaning green pesto. This variety gets its bright colour from fresh basil. In its original form, called "Pesto alla genovese", garlic, olive oil, pine nuts and hard cheese combined with fresh basil. In our shop, however, you can find a vegan version of the "evergreen" - instead of cheese, we use cashews and tofu. You should try it! And we also have a pesto rosso in our range, which is also vegan, also spicy and delicious. The red colour that gives it its name comes from dried tomatoes and tomato paste.
Buy pesto with sage
Enough talk, now it's time to try our sage pesto! It is made from the best ingredients, freshly processed directly in Liguria - the birthplace of pesto, we learned - and is a source of fibre. The combination of classic pesto ingredients such as basil, cheese and olive oil with aromatic sage and crunchy almonds gives you an intense sage flavour that you definitely haven't encountered too often in pesto form before. So put our pesto with sage directly into your shopping cart. Order now!

Tasty
Addictive, that's how good this pesto is!
It can be used very versatile. High praise!
Is bought several times
Really tasty
Top quality
My mom had the pesto in the 24th door last year and we really like it :)
Jar arrived unscrewed, with no more vacuum and greasing the box
Velvety pesto
Ordered a jar to try and am n thrilled. A very elegant, spicy taste, I like it even better than conventional basil pesto. To all those who rate the oil content as too high, this is important for the shelf life! Always stir well before serving, then the ratio fits great. My new favorite product from KoRo.
