Vegan baking without eggs
How can you bake without eggs? It's not that hard if you know the secret and have the right products at your side. Drumroll, and introducing: the vegan egg! That's right, we've been easily whipping up vegan muffins, pancakes, cookies, and more with our vegan egg substitute. Do you bake every day and want to add variety to your egg substitute powder? That's not a problem either: with our chia seeds and flax seeds, you can easily make an egg substitute with a nutty flavour. From now on, you no longer need a chicken on the balcony to be prepared for every baking session!
Replacing eggs
How do I replace my chicken egg? It's the question of all questions in the vegan bakery. But don't worry, we did our research and went among the chickens. Conjure up an egg from:
- 1 tbsp chia seeds + 3 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp cornstarch + 3 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp locust bean gum + 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp soy flour + 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp baking soda + 1 tbsp vinegar
- 75 ml apple puree
- ½ banana
- 50 g silken tofu
- 1 tbsp flaxseed + 2 tbsp water
Bake vegan brownies
Brownies without animal ingredients and with an extra portion of flavour, please! With our Dark Chocolate Brownies of Death, you will become the absolute baking queen or brownie king. Sounds dramatic? Get ready for something! Imagine: you mix 125g melted margarine, 300g coconut blossom sugar, 80ml oat drink and 1 tbsp of heavenly sweet agave syrup. Stir like crazy. Then you add 75g aromatic cocoa powder and 135g fluffy coconut flour. Now comes the best part: add 170g of fine chocolate drops, 2 tablespoons of bitter cocoa nibs, ½ teaspoon of baking powder and a pinch of salt. Mix everything together again briefly, then your brownie is ready to go in the oven. Bake at 175°C for 25-30 minutes. Your brownie is now ready to serve – and to melt away! But that's not all. We're just getting started. Because now comes the best part: choosing the brownie toppings. Classics like nut butter, nuts and dried fruit are always a safe bet, of course. But if you want to convert your friends to veganism, then we'll show you THE vegan toppings par excellence: soy protein crispies 77% with cocoa, candied pecans and chocolate pretzels. Oh yes, vegan baking is fun!
A cup of vegan ‘hot milk with honey’, please
Sitting on the sofa with grandma and grandpa, sipping hot milk with honey and watching ‘Dream Voyage’ – that's how we spent many childhood days. When our diet moves in the plant-based direction with increasing age, it happens that these memories are nostalgically mourned. We say: enough of that! Time to create new memories! You don't have to do without creamy foam to do this. With our barista edition oat drink, you can become a foam pro and easily refine your plant-based drink with a vegan sugar alternative of your choice. How about a fruity-tropical coconut blossom syrup or a mild-sweet rice syrup? Your hot milk alternative for cold winter days is ready.
Gluten-free and vegan – a treat for everyone!
At the last party, you had to take care of the dessert and were bombarded with questions like: Is the cake lactose-free? Are the muffins vegan? Did you use gluten-free flour? It's without refined sugar, isn't it? We feel you – and we'll make sure that you can always answer this question with a ‘yes’ in the future! From now on, the only thing you'll hear is a compliment. Want to know how? Our insider tips: sugar beet molasses, chocolate drops with xylitol, oat drink, almond flour and vegan egg substitute. With these ingredients, you'll become an absolute vegan baking pro!
Your vegan alternatives to cheese, meat and more
Nutritional yeast is revolutionising the cheese game
Cheesy isn't just our term for the romantic comedies we show on our Ladies Movie Nights. We also have vegan mac and cheese and vegan risotto that are always nice and cheesy – and completely free from animal ingredients! Nutritional yeast is a real must in the vegan kitchen and we can't imagine our daily lives without it. The little flakes have a deliciously savoury taste and will transport you to a vegan paradise. Love parmesan? With nutritional yeast, cashews, salt and spices, you can make a vegan parmesan in no time at all that will enhance all your savoury creations. The best part: you don't have to store it in the fridge and it will keep for a very (very) long time! For anyone looking for a shortcut to a vegan alternative to parmesan, we've got you covered! Just try our vegan organic pasta topping the next time you're making pasta.
Do you prefer something that melts in your mouth? Then whip up your Emmental substitute using almond or cashew butter (or even both, we don't judge), water, lemon juice, salt, pepper and nutritional yeast. A little KoRo tip: add a little turmeric to your vegan cheese and you'll get a cheesy golden yellow colour!
Happy and meat-free!
Currywurst, Geschnetzeltes, Braten – in the past, a lunch without meat was unthinkable. So that you can show grandma that home cooking is also possible vegan, we have made on the search for the best meat alternatives. So you will not find boring tofu with us, but spicy organic chili tofu and the vegan organic burger with tofu and wakame, which make the vegan heart beat faster. You can also find classics such as bratwurst, currywurst and steak in our shop as vegan alternatives.
Innovation is our motto, which is why you will find many more plant-based meat alternatives in our range in addition to meat substitute classics. Fancy a vegan chicken stew? With our pea protein chunks or young jackfruit, you can whip up this classic in no time at all! Of course, we also have a secret weapon ready for the barbecue season: our lupins in salt water and our seitan with a bite. You can easily make your very own plant-based sausages from them. The best thing: you decide what shape your plant-based sausage has and which spices go into the filling! What should not be missing from the absolute barbecue pleasure: medium-hot mustard and mayonnaise. And of course, with us, they are completely vegan! Vegans always have to go without? Not with us, they don't!
Start the day vegan
Vegan breakfast bowls
Do you think as a vegan, breakfast looks bland? Every morning just watered-down, tasteless porridge boiled up with water? Oh no! We enjoy our colourful and flavoursome smoothie bowls and porridges first thing in the morning. Breakfast becomes a real smoothie high life with our freeze-dried raspberry powder, refined with sweet and sour goji berries, puffed organic apple and topped with our crunchy soy crispies – a dream! Do you like chocolate? How about an aromatic porridge cooked up with our creamy oat drink? You're in luck, today we're going to let you in on the secret. Get ready and grab a spoon: add a spoon (or two, or even three) of nut butter to your warm porridge and you've got yourself a nutty breakfast. If you add a few chocolate drops to your warm porridge, they'll melt away – and you along with them! But there's still something missing: we have creamy, aromatic, nutty, chocolaty... crunchy! We want bite! Our all-time favourite: pour soy protein crispies with cocoa together with our beloved cocoa nibs into a bowl and watch how the plant-based drink turns cocoa-coloured. Let them say that vegans don't know how to have breakfast.
Vegan breakfast sandwich
Not much of a smoothie person or porridge fan? We admit, we also like to start our day with something sweet and chocolaty, like our date and hazelnut cream on a slice of fresh bread. Do you prefer a savoury start to the day? Our chilli tofu is perfect for whipping up a vegan scrambled egg. Pat the tofu dry and crumble it with a fork. Then fry it with chopped onions and add nutritional yeast, turmeric, pepper and paprika powder to taste. Then fold in a vegan natural yoghurt of your choice, season with salt and serve on toast or bread – your Sunday brunch will love it. If you're in a hurry, our tofu chili slices can also be quickly fried and thrown on your breakfast sandwich. Try it out!
Breakfast to go – when you're in a rush
When you see all those commercials where the whole family is having breakfast together in the morning and seems to have all the time in the world, you think to yourself: How? We are also the quick-coffee-to-go people in the morning. That's why we also have muesli in bar form: Our vegan flapjack with cocoa does not need honey and thanks to gluten-free oats, it is even edible for those with gluten intolerance or coeliac disease. Our vegan organic energy and protein balls in salted peanut, cookie dough and brownie flavours can also provide you with the plant-based power you need for your morning. And what should not be missing in the vegan world? That's right: raw food! We like our raw snacks best when they have a nutty flavour. That's why we have the organic raw food bar made from cashews, almonds and cocoa for you. And if you're in the mood for something heavenly and fruity, just reach for the organic raw food bar with raspberry flavour.
Brunch 2.0
Team breakfast or team brunch? It's the question of all questions. We can and love both. A perfect brunch in our eyes? Good company and a looooot of food. The regular guest at our brunch table: pancakes. We like our pancakes light and fluffy, which is no problem thanks to our egg substitute powder. Our favourite toppings are, of course, our date and hazelnut spread, and when we want something crispy and nutty, we add roasted almonds. Do you like your pancakes savoury? Then build your pancake tower and stabilise it with our mango and curry spread or tomato and basil spread. Top your savoury pancake plate with roasted and salted chickpeas and you're in brunch heaven!

Are there also vegan supplements at KoRo?
Of course, we have thought of everything and have vegan supplements in our range for you. In a vegan diet, vitamin B12 and vitamin D3 are two of the best-known and most important supplements – so it's a good thing that we have both in our range!
What is vegan egg substitute?
Baking and cooking without eggs sounds like an impossibility for grandma. But if you look into cooking and baking without eggs, you'll find that it's not that difficult if you have the right tips and products at hand. You can whip up a vegan scrambled egg in no time with tofu, oat drink, turmeric, pepper and salt. Are you a baking fairy? Then you can easily make a vegan egg from water and flaxseed, chia seeds or golden linseed. How does it work? Due to the high swelling capacity of the seeds, the addition of water creates a thick mass that can be used as an ideal egg substitute in all kinds of baked goods. But you can also replace the egg in many baked goods with fruit puree such as apple puree. Of course, we also have ‘the real stuff’ for you in our range: with our egg substitute powder, you can make any recipe vegan and become the absolute favourite at any party!
Which vegan products at KoRo have a high protein content?
Are you an athlete and want to make your diet as high in protein as possible? No problem! We have got you covered, because we want to counteract the cliché that ‘salads make your biceps shrink’! With our vegan soy protein crispies with cocoa, you get a full 77% protein in your bowl. Fancy a snack? If you don't feel like carrying a kilo of protein crispies in your bag, then you should reach for our vegan protein bar with hazelnuts. Crunchy and nutty in flavour, our bar tastes great and gives you the power you need for your workout! Of course, we also have a variety of plant-based protein powders in stock: from organic hemp protein to organic lupin protein and organic rice protein, we have everything a vegan athlete's heart desires! We are absolute fans of plant-based protein sources, aren't you already?
Is vegan good for losing weight?
You can achieve your weight loss goals primarily by maintaining a daily calorie deficit. This means consuming fewer calories than you burn. A balanced and varied diet, plenty of sleep and exercise in the fresh air are therefore good for losing weight. A vegan diet can help with this, as vegetables and fruit often have a high nutrient density but a low energy density. At the same time, a vegan diet does not necessarily have to be balanced and include a lot of raw vegetables. A vegan diet that is high in sugar and calories is also possible. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that you will lose weight with a vegan diet.
Is a vegan diet healthy?
‘You only eat vegetables": the vegan food trend is often automatically seen as a “healthy” food trend. However, a balanced and wholesome diet is what is primarily healthy. A vegan diet does not necessarily have to fulfil these conditions and therefore cannot always be said to be better than a mixed diet. There are also many purely plant-based sweets and highly processed vegan foods available to buy. However, if you are a vegan and drink enough water, cook a lot with fresh food, eat enough fruit, vegetables, wholegrain cereals, high-quality vegetable oils, plant-based sources of protein (such as nuts, pulses fruits and soy products) as well as important dietary supplements (such as vitamin B12 and vitamin D3) into your diet, you are on the right track to providing your body with all the nutrients it needs. In addition to nutrition, it is crucial to get enough exercise and movement. If you decide to go completely vegan, we recommend that you have your blood checked from time to time by a doctor you trust in order to rule out possible deficiency symptoms.

Our ‘Nachschlag Team’ has delved into the world of children's nutrition and found out whether it is possible to feed your children a vegan diet. Feel free to visit our YouTube channel, where you will find all the information you need!
Can I eat vegan during pregnancy?
Studies and opinions on the subject of vegan nutrition during pregnancy differ widely. We recommend that you discuss the options with a doctor you trust to ensure your own health and that of your child.
