But what does L-arginine base do?

Arginine is one of the semi-essential amino acids, which means that your body can normally produce them itself, but in critical phases of life, for example during childhood, pregnancy or breastfeeding, supplementation can be beneficial. That's all well and good, but what is this L in front of the amino acid actually supposed to do? If you're into biochemistry, you probably already know. The letters L and D are used to distinguish the spatial arrangement of molecules. For us, however, the only thing that matters is that L-arginine can be absorbed by the human body and D-arginine cannot. Phew, with that we have ticked off the biochemical part quickly and painlessly. Now let's go back to the beginning of the text: since L-arginine is an amino acid, it forms various proteins in the body together with other amino acids. Of course, you can also find arginine in foods, e.g. B. in meat, fish and legumes. That's why we would like to emphasise once again that our L-arginine base capsules are only a dietary supplement and are not a replacement for a balanced and varied diet.

Can I take L-arginine if I am on medications?

If you are taking medication or have a chronic illness, you should always consult a doctor and clarify whether you can take nutritional supplements.
