Oriental cuisine is not only extremely delicious, but also has a variety of dishes to offer. This recipe is inspired by the flavors and ingredients of the Orient. The combination of red lentils, strong bulgur and the typical garam masala spice will take you to the regions of Middle East in terms of taste. The lentil balls make a great side dish, but also shine as a main component with vegetables, rice, potatoes, etc. Hummus also tastes really good with them!

60 g rote Linsen
1 handful flat leaf parsley
60 g Bulgur
3 Spring onions
1 Tsp. Garam Masala
400 ml Vegetable broth
1 tbsp. Tomato paste
1 Lemon
  • Step 1/3

Wash the lentils and put them in a pot with vegetable broth and boil them for another 5 minutes. Add the bulgur. Reduce the heat and simmer with the lid on for about 15-20 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture infuse for 5 minutes.

  • Step 2/3

Chop the spring onions and parsley in a blender and add to the bulgur-lentil mixture. Stir in the tomato paste, garam masala and lemon juice and let the whole thing cool down a bit.

  • Step 3/3

Form small lentil balls from the finished mixture and bake on a baking tray lined with baking paper in the oven for about 15 minutes.
